Towards Equity and Empowerment: ICSW's Blueprint for the Global Social Agenda

The World Social Summit 2025, officially known as the Second World Summit for Social Development (WSSD2), is a pivotal global gathering aimed at advancing inclusive social development and addressing the critical challenges that hinder well-being for all. It is scheduled to take place in Doha, Qatar, in November 2025.
The Summit offers a unique platform for governments, civil society, the private sector, and other key stakeholders to come together to shape policies and strategies that promote improved social conditions, equity, and sustainability.
Building on the legacy of the landmark 1995 World Summit for Social Development in Copenhagen—which championed social inclusion, poverty eradication, and full, productive employment—the 2025 Summit seeks to reaffirm and revitalize these commitments in response to today’s pressing challenges and collective aspirations for enhanced well-being and a more just, human-centered world.
The International Council on Social Welfare has prepared a Manifesto—a forward-looking policy document to be submitted to the Second World Social Summit. This comprehensive statement, focused on improving people’s well-being, reflects a wide range of perspectives from ICSW members on key issues featured in the Global Social Agenda.
We are pleased to publish the original English version of the document here. Translations into Arabic, French, Spanish, German, and Portuguese will be released shortly.
