  • The International Council on Social Welfare – European Region and Vilnius University ask your attention for a call for papers for the international conference "Equal Opportunities For Individuals, Groups and Nations" (14-16 June, 2007 - Vilnius, Lithuania).

  • ICSW has set up two expert committees, one on Migration and one dealing with the Role of Social NGOs. Both expert committees will organise expert meetings between mid 2006 and mid 2007. >
  • The French ICSW National Committee is organising a European symposium with the theme “Discrimination: from concept to reality”. The symposium will take place in Paris on 8 and 9 December 2006. For more information contact c.n.a.s@wanadoo.fr or comite.service.francais@wanadoo.fr

Publications

  • ICSW Europe has written a comment on the European Commission Green Paper on “Modernising Labour Law to Meet the Challenges of the 21st Century”, in which it warns against a singleminded approach of flexicurity with regard to aspects of labour law and demands more attention for the social protection part of the flexicurity system.

  • 2010 will be the European Year on Combating Poverty and Social Exclusion. The European Commission consulted relevant stakeholders on the aims and expectations for the Year. ICSW Europe was also consulted. In this document the ICSW Europe response can be found.
