Engaging with ASEAN As a first step towards developing an ASEAN regional coordination mechanism, the Thai Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, in partnership with the ASEAN Secretariat and ICSW is hosting the first GO-NGO Forum in September 2006 in Bangkok. This will bring together ICSW members and other NGOs from all ASEAN countries to: - identify social welfare issues which could benefit from regional interventions - provide inputs into the Social Welfare Development Framework for 2007 - 2010 - identify mechanisms for improved collaboration between ASEAN and NGOs - identify specific projects which support a social welfare agenda In preparation for the Forum, ICSW has produced a guide to ASEAN called "Engaging with ASEAN".
